StarCraft HD and the Pitfalls of Updating a Classic

StarCraft HD rumors

Since Blizzard doesn’t seem to be refuting the rumors as of this writing, perhaps StarCraft HD is indeed about to become a reality. As good as StarCraft II may be, it’s still overshadowed by the legacy of Brood War and its storied reign as the king of real-time strategy for 14 years. But with this recent development, it seems that Blizzard is acknowledging the enormity of StarCraft: Brood War‘s legacy, thus updating the game to run better on newer systems. Now if they’d do it for WarCraft III as well. (more…)

Pokemon GO Hate, Piss, and Vinegar [Vlog]

Pokemon GO Hate

This video may have been ill-advised as I decided to do it out of a whim after seeing so many people showing some form of contempt for Pokemon GO, as many do when something becomes popular all of a sudden. What I came up with is more of a plea to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Mind you, I know it’s mostly pointless to convince dicks on the Internet to not be dicks, but at least I get a video out of it. (more…)

Atomas — Simple Chemistry [Review]

Atomas by Sirnic

As you may have noticed on this blog, there aren’t a lot of posts concerning mobile games. There are some, but they’re not what tended to be massively popular at the moment (excluding the Clash Royale review). In this case, I was able to play one that I quite liked, which is certainly not Pokemon GO that has just been released and is taking the Internet by storm as of this writing. This is Atomas, which was released a year before but is still worth looking at. (more…)

How to Fuck Up Reinhardt in Overwatch [Guide]

Overwatch — How to Kill Reinhardt | Avoiderdragon

Everyone wants to hate on the usual suspects like Bastion, but Reinhardt is more consistent as the guy you must hate in Overwatch. I swear he’s getting his dick sucked behind that shield, and that smugness needs to be wiped out from the face of the earth. If ever the shield goes and you’re close, he can stun you with his ultimate, then swing that hammer like he’s slapping a ho with his cock. (more…)

Overwatch — A Good Kind of Black Hole [Impressions]

Overwatch

After tons of hype and a fairly extensive beta period (as well as a minor controversy concerning the fictional depiction of female buttocks), the much-anticipated new game by Blizzard finally came out. It has been almost a week since the release of Overwatch, and it’s currently making the folks over at Gearbox Software have sweaty palms (and hopefully with Randy Pitchford unable to sleep at night). While it’s given that this may be a bit too late for just a first impressions post and I should put out a review already, I still have to put this up to wrap my head around my thoughts about this game. (more…)

DOOM First Impressions — Ultra Violence

DOOM (2016)

This post was only worked on four days after the video was made, but at least I’ve had a bit more time to think about what I like and don’t like about this game, especially without the rose-tinted glasses. There’s much to dig through with this game, especially with all the bad impressions the multiplayer beta gave. It turns out that the singleplayer is indeed good and fun to play, so I guess the beta only served to sow seeds of doubt about the new DOOM needlessly. (more…)

VR Porn and Our Filthy Cyberpunk Future [NSFW]

VR Porn logo

Got the idea to write about this from articles on Fusion and Mashable regarding VR porn, although it took me a while due to trepidation of posting something this NSFW here. With both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive coming out at this time and how they can change the way we consume media within the next decade or so, VR porn is inevitable. As the first NSFW post on this website, here’s a crazier direction in writing by talking about what some in my Facebook friends list may find abhorrent, which is exactly what I’m going for. (more…)

Games as Meditation and Productivity Aids

Games as Meditation and Productivity Aids

There has been a bit of a slump lately on this blog, but it may have turned out for the better as I had come across a realization. This little turnaround could be what’s needed to inspire more content here as it’s about playing video games and how it seems to be correlated to my ability to be productive. Games as meditation and productivity aids may seem absolutely ridiculous at first, but I find it to be a rather intriguing concept. (more…)

Clash Royale (Mobile) [Review]

Clash Royale

With Clash of Clans being such a hit in the mobile gaming industry, it took no time for Supercell to come up with stellar games like Boom Beach and now Clash Royale. The difference here is that Clash Royale has a new feature that the previous games are lacking—real-time PvP play. That’s what makes this title more fun and exciting, even for those who aren’t that into mobile games. (more…)

I’m So Done: Changing Stances Over Platform Exclusivity

The PC goes, "BWAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!"

Back when Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as a timed exclusive for the Xbox One, I wrote two posts about platform exclusivity (1 and 2) with perhaps only a rough idea of what it’s intended to do and what its consequences are. In those two posts, I concluded (rather hastily and not speaking what was really on my mind at the time) that’s it’s mostly alright because it’s a business practice that has always been there in the video game industry. However, I’ve had a rethink and would like to clarify my stance on this. (more…)

XCOM 2 First Impressions

XCOM 2

Since this post is already more than a week late, let’s just get right to it. XCOM 2 is one of the two games I planned to purchase on day one for the month of February 2016, the other being Street Fighter V. With so much money coming out of my pocket right now to play some good games (for a change) and get something out of them to put on this website (which I’m failing at so far), I might as well give my first impressions of this game more than a week after and with so many people already posting reviews of it. (more…)
